By definition, the photography contains moments, frozen instants that are reflected and decontextualized forever. The rest of the story have to be explained or you have to imagine it. Therein lies the subjective set of assumptions and realities, of frames that hide and show aesthetic and unsightly games.
Based on this stolen moment, Juan Cobo develops his serie Control almost as an acting director working with non-actors to extract a real thrill to the public. The time before losing control and venture into the crying is what has searched and with which anyone can relate. A universal feeling that makes us equal and closer to the protagonist wich is shown emotionally naked and raw in these portraits.
No big tricks or effects, this series becomes introspective to show the essence of photography as a complex language that allows the viewer to decode each image in its own way. In this case, everyone can choose the start and end of the story of these characters who look threatening or frightened, severely or damaged sweetly, asking for a viewer's gaze, taking him into her beautiful time prior to loss of control.
Among the portrayed, there are different profiles and attitudes as well as very different are the reactions of those watching. The viewer is confronted with these looks excited and dense that make us think about the loneliness of existence. They awake feelings such diverse as the people in the world.
